Former Newberry College women's rugby student-athlete Archkela Lane joined her alma mater's athletic department media relations staff as a graduate assistant in August of 2024.
She gained experience as an undergraduate student working with the Voice of the Wolves, Jimmie Coggins at WKDK in Newberry.
Lane interviewed show guests and moderated discussions, assisted with live coverage of sporting events through social media channels, providing real-time updates for fans.
She also worked in the Newberry College Athletics Department with game day operations.
Lane was also a member of the Scarlet Spirit Marching Band and member of the Speech and Debate Team.
She received her undergraduate degree in Sports Communications with a minor in business from Newberry College in May of 2024.
Lane is a graduate of Mid Carolina High School.
