Caroline Smith joined the Newberry Wolves coaching staff as an Assistant Coach in 2024-25.

She coaches the Wolves throwers.

During her first season on staff Irma Watson-Perez won the women's weight throw at the 2025 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.while Kiori Butler finished third in the women's shot put.  Andrea Pascual Rivera finished fifth, Butler seventh and ShaNadia Marshall eight in the weight throw.  Sean Price finished seventh in the men's weight throw.

At the 2025 SAC Outdoor Championships Sean Price won the men's javelin and Andrea Pascual Rivera took home the title ini the women's hammer.  Watson-Perez took third in the discus, second in the hammer and sixth in the shot put while Butler was sixth in the javelin.

Smith earned her degree in Criminology from Lander University in May 2024. During her time at Lander, she was a dedicated member of the Track and Field team and served as the team captain for a year.

Caroline’s journey began in high school at Dorman, where she was head captain of the varsity Track and Field team for three of the four years she competed. Her experience as a leader on and off the field has shaped her coaching philosophy, focusing on teamwork, discipline, and a positive environment for athletes to excel.

She also participated in the Interactive Club at Dorman High School, where she led initiatives to support the homeless, such as organizing care packages and contributing to community service projects.
