Turner Almond

Turner Almond enters his second season as the Wolves assistant men's soccer coach. He joined the Newberry staff after graduating from Wofford in 2013 with a degree in Business Economics and a minor in Government. Almond was a two-year starter for the Terriers.

At Wofford, Almond logged one goal and four assists from his wide back position on the pitch. During Almond’s senior season the Terriers advanced to the finals of the Southern Conference Tournament after knocking off Furman and topping Appalachian State in spot kicks.

Off the pitch, Almond has coached at numerous college led soccer camps, while also serving as the head coach of the Byrnes High School junior varsity squad. In addition to his junior varsity head coaching job, Almond was the assistant for the varsity squad and served as head coach for the club team GCCSA Cobras.

A native of Shelby, N.C., Almond was a four-year starter at Shelby High School in soccer and earned four letters as the placekicker for the Shelby football team.
