NEWBERRY, S.C. – Eight members of the Newberry College men's and women's cross country/track & field programs have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, recognizing their outstanding achievements both in competition and in the classroom.
Representing the Wolves on the men's side are Drew Benson, John Shivers, Tavarian Thompson, Landon Tucker, and Dwayne Weiters. Women's honorees include Olivia Hare, Brittany Montgomery, and Addison O'Cain.
The CSC Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and academically. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average while meeting stringent athletic performance standards. For track & field, nominees must rank among the top 50 in their region in an indoor or outdoor event, while cross country student-athletes must finish among the top 50 at their respective NCAA regional championship.
The Academic All-District® honor recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in their sport while demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence throughout their collegiate careers.
Academic All-District® honorees were also considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as Academic All-America® finalists advance to the national ballot, with the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-America® Teams scheduled to be announced later this summer.
