NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Newberry College men's basketball program was recognized for its outstanding work in the classroom as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Awards and Honors Court selections.
The Wolves earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award after posting a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year. In addition, eight Newberry student-athletes were named to the NABC Honors Court, which recognizes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs across all levels of college basketball that complete the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court celebrates individual student-athletes who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in the classroom while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics.
More than 2,300 men's basketball student-athletes from colleges and universities across the country earned NABC Honors Court recognition for the 2025-26 academic year, while more than 400 programs received Team Academic Excellence Awards.
The academic honors continue a strong tradition of success for the Newberry men's basketball program, highlighting the dedication of its student-athletes to excelling both on the court and in the classroom.
