Greenville, S.C. – The Newberry Wolves wrapped up Day 1 of the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship in seventh place out of 13 teams, carding a team score of 298 (+15) at The Preserve at Verdae.

Tom Hull led the Wolves with a composed round of even-par 72, placing him in a tie for 10th individually. Hull kept a clean scorecard, picking up birdies on holes 1 and 11 and finishing with balanced nines of 36.

Christian Kuehl followed with a solid 74 (+2), ending the day tied for 18th place. Kuehl bounced back from a double on the par-3 11th and closed with birdies on 8, 15, and 17.

Javier Borrego contributed a 78 (+6), good for a tie for 35th, while Josh Greig posted a 79 (+7) to sit in a tie for 43rd. Benedikt Fischer closed out the team scoring with an 81 (+9), placing him in a tie for 53rd after Day 1.

With two rounds left to play, the Wolves remain well within reach of a top finish. Newberry will look to build momentum when Round 2 tees off Monday morning at The Preserve at Verdae.
