NEWBERRY, SC – The Newberry Wolves battled but came up short in both games of their Tuesday doubleheader against Lincoln Memorial, falling 13-2 in game one and 9-4 in game two at the Smith Road Complex.
Game One: Newberry 2, Lincoln Memorial 13
Newberry's offense was led by Samantha Clark, who recorded two hits and drove in both of the Wolves' runs. Christine Butler and Haidyn Campbell each added a hit, along with Ella stone and Payton Little, but the lineup struggled to generate consistent scoring opportunities against Lincoln Memorial's pitching.
On the mound, Lindsey Foster went three innings, allowing four earned runs on eight hits while striking out four. Samantha Minick and Maddy Staples both came for relief late in the game, but unfortunately the Railsplitter's offense was relentless.
