Wolves Drop Doubleheader Against Lincoln Memorial

NEWBERRY, SC – The Newberry Wolves battled but came up short in both games of their Tuesday doubleheader against Lincoln Memorial, falling 13-2 in game one and 9-4 in game two at the Smith Road Complex.

Game One: Newberry 2, Lincoln Memorial 13

Newberry's offense was led by Samantha Clark, who recorded two hits and drove in both of the Wolves' runs. Christine Butler and Haidyn Campbell each added a hit, along with Ella stone and Payton Little, but the lineup struggled to generate consistent scoring opportunities against Lincoln Memorial's pitching.

On the mound, Lindsey Foster went three innings, allowing four earned runs on eight hits while striking out four. Samantha Minick and Maddy Staples both came for relief late in the game, but unfortunately the Railsplitter's offense was relentless.

Game Two: Newberry 7, Lincoln Memorial 11

Newberry's offense came alive in game two, collecting seven hits and scoring seven runs. Maddy Staples was the leader for the Wolves, adding a hit and three-RBI, while Katie Henri and Leah Evans each recorded multi-hit games.

On the mound, Foster returned as a highlight player for the wolves in game two. Pitching six full innings, and allowing one earned run with four strikeouts.

The Wolves will regroup for the Saturday doubleheader at home vs. Emory & Henry. Game one will begin at 1pm on the Smith Road Complex with game two following at 3pm.
