A Walk Off Three-Run Homer from Stone Puts the Down the Hawks in Game One

NEWBERRY, SC – The Newberry College Wolves delivered an electrifying performance at the Smith Road Complex on Friday night, securing a 10-7 victory over Chowan in a hard-fought battle. The Wolves' offense came alive in the later innings, capitalizing on key opportunities and battling past a late game tie with a walk off three-run home run from Ella Stone. With 15 hits and a four-run seventh inning, Newberry sealed the win in front of their home crowd.

 

The Wolves erupted for four runs in the final frame, securing the victory.

 

Maddy Staples was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored, providing a consistent spark for the offense.

 

Haidyn Campbell led the team in hits, going 4-for-5 with a double and scoring twice.

 

Natalie Wescott earned the win for the Wolves, pitching the final two frames and striking out three.

 

Lindsey Foster started the game for the Wolves going for a solid five innings.

 

Newberry racked up 15 hits, including three doubles and a home run.

 

The Wolves will build off this win in a doubleheader tomorrow, March 1st, at the Smith Road Complex for a 12pm and 2pm start.
