MARS HILL, N.C. – The Newberry College acrobatics & tumbling team competed on the road but fell 240.435 - 86.775 to the Lions of Mars Hill.
Newberry opened the meet with a 15.30 in the Compulsory Event, highlighted by an 8.65 in the Pyramid heat. The Wolves continued to battle in the Acro Event, earning a total of 16.90, with their highest-scoring heat coming in the 5-element (7.95).
The Wolves put up a strong effort in the Pyramid Event, recording a total of 21.40, with their best performance in the Inversion heat (8.25). In the Toss Event, Newberry posted a 12.85, led by a 7.65 in the Open Toss heat. Newberry also competed in the Tumbling Event, finishing with 20.325 points. Their best individual performance came in the 6-element pass, scoring 6.975.
Newberry now holds a 0-3 record and will look to bounce back in their next meet on March 1st when they host Wingate.
