COLUMBIA, SC - The Newberry College women's wrestling team took to the mats in a double-dual meet against Allen University, losing 30-15,  and Emory & Henry, falling 25-15.

The Wolves earned three individual victories against the Yellow Jackets, with Emely Mejia-Martinez (117 lbs.) setting the tone by pinning Stacy Pule in just 2:54. Celeste Welch (124 lbs.) picked up a win via forfeit, while Dara Lin (145 lbs.) added another dominant performance, securing a fall at 2:36 over JahMya Hill.

Newberry vs. Emory & Henry

The Wolves then faced Emory & Henry, falling 25-15. Kaia Stewart (117 lbs.) and Summer McKeen (131 lbs.) each picked up wins by forfeit, while Mejia-Martinez (124 lbs.) continued her dominant night with a 50-second pin over Madison Wilson. Though the Wolves faced tough matchups at 138, 145, and 160 pounds, their early points secured the overall team win.
