This week's Newberry College South Carolina Army National Guard Players of the Week are seniors Irma Watson-Perez (Sanford, FL) and John Parker (Yulee, FL).

Last week Watson-Perez was the South Atlantic Conference field performer of the week and this week she surpassed her previous best effort from a week ago with a toss of  57 feet, 8.5 inches to finish in third place in the weight throw at the VMI Invitational.  She leads the South Atlantic Conference with that mark by more than 10 feet.

Parker came up with a clutch pin late in his 197-pound match to spark the Wolves to a 22-21 road victory over #19 UNC Pembroke.  The Wolves trailed the Braves 18-16 heading into Parker's match, the next to last match of the dual, and he scored the decisive six points with a pin of with less than a minute left.  He is ranked in the top-10 in the nation and is 21-6 on the season.
