Newberry Field Hockey Remains Undefeated With Win Over Belmont Abbey

Box Score Charlotte, NC-Newberry Field Hockey continued its impressive undefeated streak, defeating Belmont Abbey Crusaders 2-1 in South Atlantic Conference action. The Wolves showcased outstanding defense, limiting the Crusaders to just three shots throughout the match.
 
Belmont Abbey opened the scoring early, netting a goal at the 14:13 mark. However, Newberry responded quickly, with Tamsin Bangert scoring to tie the game at 22:11. In the final quarter, Emma Westbrook secured the lead for the Wolves with a decisive goal at 57:40, assisted by Parker Keeler.
 
Offensively, Newberry was relentless, registering a total of 10 shots during the game. With this victory, the Wolves improved to 3-0 in the South Atlantic Conference, building on their impressive start that included a seven-game winning streak in 2023.

The Wolves are set to take on Mansfield this Saturday, September 21, at 2:00 PM in Slippery Rock, looking to keep their momentum going outside the South Atlantic Conference.
