RECAP: Newberry Men's soccer loses their home opener 7-2 vs. Mars Hill University. Forward Peter Plougmand of Mars Hill tallied four goals for the Lions, while Henok Awoke and Filip Tmusic both put one away for the Wolves.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

Mars Hill got started quickly scoring the first two goals of the game in the 6' and 18'. Both goals were scored by Plougmand, and assisted by Bayly and Faus.

Newberry got themselves on the board in the 18' after a needle threaded pass from Tomas Queiros, put in the back of the net by Henok Awoke.

The Lions added another goal to the scoreboard in the 30' to complete Plougmand's hat trick.

Newberry came out firing after the Lions goal, hitting the post on back to back shots from Awoke and Seraphin Guetan to keep the score the same at 3-1.

Before the half came to a close, Mars Hill scored on a penalty kick to make it 4-1.

In the 59', Marten gave the Lions a 5-1 lead off a pass from Bayly.

Two more goals were scored by the Lions in the 73' and 76' by Bromage and Faus.

The Wolves chipped away at the Lions lead scoring once more in the 88', with a goal from Filip Tmusic (unassisted).
