ANDERSON, S.C.- The Wolves (25-24, 11-13 SAC) fell to the Eagles of Carson-Newman (31-16, 16-6 SAC) in eight innings this afternoon 4-3 for the first round of the South Atlantic Softball Championship.
Carson-Newman started the scoring by putting one run on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run.
Bethany Pigg would start it off for the Wolves with a SAC fly for
Kristin Griffin to cross home plate to tie the score 1-1.
The Wolves would take the lead 3-1 in the top of the sixth with a two-run home run from
Vanessa Wilson.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Eagles hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game 3-3. They would add another run in the bottom of the eighth inning to take the game 4-3.
