Clermont, FL: Wolves Triatlon places 11th in NCAA National Championship
Â
Kayleigh Geel, Rebecca Hartrick, Timea Laskodi and Anna Laskodi qualified for the Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships because of their impressive performances at the East Region Qualifier in October.Â
Â
Geel raced in heat two while Hatrick, and both Laskodi's raced in heat 3.
Â
The Wolves were led by Sophomore Kayleigh Geel who placed 127th. She finished her swim with a time of 11:46, finished biking with a time of 37:06, and finished her run with a time of 23:16. Geel's total time added up to 1:14:22, earning the Wolves 68 points.
Â
"I am very happy with the way the women put it all out on the line this weekend," said Coach Marty Owens, "It was some tough conditions for all triathletes as the temperatures climbed well into the 80's and the humidity was high. Each year, the women continue to improve their individual finish times at the NCAA Championships."
