Co-South Atlantic Conference champion Newberry College remains #8 in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll.
The Wolves (15-3) have been ranked every week for the past seven weeks and have ranked #8 for the past six weeks.
The Wolves are also the highest ranked SAC team in the NCAA Atlantic region field hockey poll at #6.
Newberry is the #1 seed in this weekend's South Atlantic Conference Postseason Tournament and hosts #5 seed Mount Olive which defeated #4 seed Lander 2-1 Monday in Greenwood.
The two teams have split their games this year with the Trojans winning 4-1 in Mount Olive and the Wolves coming up victorious 3-1 in Newberry.
The game will start at 5:00 p.m. Friday at Setzler Field.
The first semifinal begins Friday at 2:00 p.m. with #2 seed Limestone taking on #3 seed Wingate.
The two semifinal winners will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday for the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

The Wolves have already set school records for most wins in a season (15) and fewest goals allowed in a season (21 through 18 games, .085 per game).
Newberry is tied for the fourth best winning percentage in the country (.833), ranks 8
th in scoring margin (+1.62), 9
th in goals per game (2.72), 10
th in points (7.22) and shutouts per game (0.33), and 11
th nationally in assists per game (1.78) and corners per game (8.67).
Emma Westbrook leads the SAC in goals (14), is second in points (31) and ranks 7
th in nation in goals per game (0.78) while
Tamsin Bangert is fourth in the SAC in points (29) and second in assists (9) and ranks 8
th in the country in assists per game (0.5).
The dynamic duo is ranked 12
th (Westbrook) and 13
th (Bangert) in the country in points per game.
Goalkeeper Kayla Cooke is 13
th in the country in goals allowed per game (1.35), 21
st in save percentage (.730) and 29
th in saves per game (3.18).
This is the sixth consecutive year Newberry has advanced to the SAC Tournament and its fifth consecutive semifinal appearance.
The Wolves and Trojans have previously met in the SAC Tournament.Â
In 2022, the Trojans beat the Wolves 2-1 in overtime in the SAC Tournament semifinals and the previous year Newberry beat Mount Olive 4-2 in Newberry in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals.

Limestone head coach Farai Kawonde is a Newberry College graduate and played for
Hannah Dave for four seasons. She was a first team All-SAC pick in 2019 and 2020 and a member of the NFHCA Division 2 Senior team.
Wingate head coach Kat Lind was an assistant on the Wolves' first field hockey team in 2013.
