Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Lenoir-Rhyne for the First Time Since 2004

NEWBERRY, SC – Men's Soccer Shuts Out Lenoir-Rhyne for the First Time Since 2004.

RECAP: Men's Soccer rallied behind a great performance on both sides of the ball. Taking a 1-0 lead in the 42', the Wolves were able to fend off the Bears and seal the first shutout against Lenoir-Rhyne since 2004.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Jacob Cotton started off his clean sheet with two saves in the 11' and 14'.

  • The Wolves got on the board right before half (42') with a beautiful goal from Henok Awoke, unassisted.

  • The second half was a defensive standoff from both teams with each allowing no goals.

  • A late game save in the 88' from Cotton stopped the Bears final chance at a comeback.

  • The Wolves closed out the match 1-0.
