RECAP: Newberry Wolves secured a 1-0 victory over Wingate Bulldogs in a tightly contested match. After a scoreless first half, the Wolves broke through in the second half with the game's only goal. Both teams displayed strong defensive efforts, making it a challenge for any offensive play. The Wolves' defense held firm, ensuring the shutout and a huge win.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

• Offensive attack started slow in today's match, until the 17' when keeper Jacob Cotton got his first save of the day.

• The Bulldogs came out firing in the 26' sending three more shots at Cotton, two saved, one missed wide.

• A shot in the 39' by Harry McDonnell almost sent the Wolves ahead before the half, but was saved in the top left of the net.

• The Wolves shot out the gate going into the second half, scoring the first and only goal of this match in the 46'. The game winner was scored by Henok Awoke and assisted by Tomas Queiros.

• The Bulldogs were relentless in their comeback attempt, taking 10 shots in the second half, and outshooting the Wolves 20-7. The Newberry defense proved stronger as they were able to hold on to their 1-0 lead and close out the SAC win.
