Newberry Women's tennis wins the day in a 7-0 sweep, and the men's team falls to the Valkyries 6-1.
Women's Doubles:
Emma Arnal and Renee Dorval started off the day with a dominant performance winning 6-1. Following that duo is Margarita Roshka and Alexa Gamborino-Suarez who won their match 6-4. Game three finished with a similar outcome, with Lina Sarhan and Hazel Vernon winning 6-3.
Women's Singles:
The women kept this momentum going, sweeping the competition in their singles matches. Roshka (7-6, 6-4), Arnal (6-1, 6-2), Gamborino-Suarez (6-0, 6-3), Sarhan (6-4,6-3), Dorval (6-1, 6-1), and Vernon (6-1,6-3).
Men's Doubles:
Joshua Fritz and Senthen Reddy start the day for the men's team, falling short 6-3. Game two was played by David Negzaoui and Lucas Mruk, outmatched in a 6-3 final. Noel Bartz and Evan Phillips were overtaken by the Valkyries in game three, 6-1.
Men's Singles:
The men fought hard, but unfortunately lost their singles matches 6-1. Fritz (4-6, 3-6), Negzaoui (3-6, 6-3, 7-6), Reddy (4-6, 5-7), Mruk (2-6,6-7), Bartz (2-6, 6-2, 1-6), and Elijah Brewer (0-6,0-6).
Both the women's and men's team will compete on October 23rd at Oakland Tennis Center vs Emmanuel University.
