Box Score Newberry, SC- On October 14th, the Newberry Wolves Field Hockey team faced off against the Bulldogs of Wingate University in a highly anticipated matchup for the #1 spot in the South Atlantic Conference. This marked the Wolves' first home game since September 8th. Despite their efforts, the Wolves fell short, with a final score of 2-1.

During the first period of the match, the Wolves opened the scoring with their first and only goal, scored by
Emma Westbrook and assisted by
Wibien Dahmen. The Bulldogs committed nine fouls in the first period, while the Wolves recorded five. Newberry also notched three saves by
Kyla Cooke. As the second period began, Wingate tied the game at the 25:26 mark. Newberry finished the second period with two penalty corners, but Wingate managed to make two saves.

With both teams head-to-head entering the third period, Wingate took the lead early, scoring the final point at 31:33. Both Newberry and Wingate recorded one save during that period.
