NEWBERRY – After a resounding 4-0 victory in the season-opener at home on Tuesday night, the Newberry College men's soccer team will aim to keep the momentum going as they travel to Salisbury, N.C., to face Catawba tomorrow (Sept. 9).
The game will be the first South Atlantic Conference matchup for either team this season with kick-off set for 1 p.m.
Scouting the Wolves:
•
Ethan Orozco scored a pair of highlight-reel goals in the win over USC Aiken earlier this week to lead the way for the Wolves.
•
Seraphin Guetan netted his first collegiate goal – and first of the season for the Wolves – in the game's 13th minute.
•
Joel Martins also found the back of the net with a header off a pass from
Henok Awoke in the final minute of the first half.
Scouting Catawba:
• Catawba sits at 1-1-0 after its first two games, including a 3-0 loss to Clayton St. and a 1-0 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) last Saturday at home.
• In that game, junior midfielder Salano Birch scored the game's lone goal in the 14th minute with the assist credited to junior Juan Pablo Nicoletti.
• Catawba leads the all-time series 20-9-2, including a 2-1 win a season ago.
