MILLEDGE, Georgia (Sept. 6) - After an explosive start by the Wolves in the first half, the Georgia College Bobcats push past the Newberry women's soccer team 3-1.

Jaidyn Jacobs would be the Wolves lone goal after finishing the day with 11 shots.
The team was lead with a strong defensive effort by goal-keeper
Aubrey Cripe who finished the day with five saves and allowed two goals in the first half, followed by a goalie switch at the second half where fellow freshman
Sarah Waller had one save and allowed one on the day.Â
The Wolves were faced with an unfortunate goal allowed at the 17 minute mark with the ball narrowly slipping past the keep tying the match 1-1.Â
The remainder of the half was an evenly met skirmish highlighted by a shot at the 30 minute mark by
Jysabella Tolentino and an strong defensive front by
Kirsty Cameron,
Sydney Gusewelle,Â
Alexsandra Castellanos and
Ava Espinoza. At the 37 minute mark the Bobcats would get their go ahead goal finishing the half 2-1.
The opening minutes would be another even exchange between the wolves and bobcats until Waller would get her first save, a low shot to the center at the 63 minute mark. The team would then be plagued with three offsides calls in a five minute span, slowing down their chances at evening the score. A back to back shot sequence by
Jaidyn Jacobs and
Emily Castaneda at the 83 minute mark would be the last chance for the wolves to breakeven.
A late game goal at the 85 minute mark by the bobcats sealed the game the women.
Newberry will look to bounce back at home on Saturday, Sept. 9, against Allen University at 5 PM
