NEWBERRY – The Newberry College field hockey team will hit the road Saturday to face the Valkyries of Converse University at 11:00 a.m.
 
The Wolves are fresh off a 5-0 win on the first game of the three-game road trip over Lincoln Memorial Tuesday afternoon.
Scouting The Wolves

• The Wolves will enter Saturday's contest with an 8-1 overall record and a 5-1 SAC mark.
• The Wolves are led on the offensive end by junior forward Tamsin Bangert and sophomore forward Emma Westbrook. Bangert has 23 points along with a team leading five assists on the season, Westbrook has 20 points with a team leading 10 goals on the season. Freshman forward Parker Keeler has scored a goal in the past three contests. Keeler has six goals on the season and 17 points on the season.
• Freshman goalkeeper Britte Jonker secured her first shutout victory in the 5-0 win over Lincoln Memorial. Jonker is 8-1 on the season. Senior forward Payton Findlay has made things difficult for opposing attackers, Findlay has three defensive saves on the season and has deflected opposing shot attempts.

Scouting The Valkyries.

• Converse enters this weekend's match with a 5-3 record and a 3-2 SAC mark. The Valkyries defeated Coker 4-3 Tuesday afternoon.
• The Valkyries are led on the offensive end by junior forward Catalina Pistaccio. Pistaccio has 13 points on the season on five goals and three assists. Pistaccio scored four goals in the 4-2 win over Mercyhurst earlier in the season.
• The Valkyries goalkeeper is junior Kat Daniels. Daniels is 3-3 on the season. In the last outing against Coker, Daniels didn't allow a goal on the afternoon.
