NEWBERRY- The Newberry College field hockey team look to keep momentum this Thursday (Sept. 14) as they will host a South Atlantic Conference foe in Coker University. The matchup against the Cobras will be set to start at 6:00 p.m. (EST) from Setzler Field.
Souting the Wolves
- The Wolves enter Thursday evening's contest with a 4-0 record and are ranked No. 9 in the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Coaches' poll. The Wolves come off beating the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College 2-1 Â with a late goal from graduate defender Marissa Plumer.
- On the offensive attack, the Wolves have had stellar performances from junior forward Tamsin Bangert, and sophomore Emma Westbrook. Westbrook scored a goal on a highlight reel shot between her legs in the 2-1 victory against Belmont Abbey. Bangert leads the team with six goals and 13 points on the season.
- Senior Payton Findlay has been putting pressure on shooters in the attacking circle. Findlay has had 2 defensive saves in the four games to start the season.
Scouting the Cobras
- The Cobras are coming into Thursday's contest with an 0-3 record on the season. Coker has faced three SAC opponents in Wingate, Mount Olive, and Limestone. The Cobras fell 4-1 to Limestone in Gaffney, S.C., on Tuesday (Sept. 12) evening.
- The Cobras are led on the offensive end by Kelly Naude and Kaiya Sabur. Both have one goal on the season.

After facing the Cobras, the Wolves will finish their four-game home stretch with a non-conference opponent in Slippery Rock this Saturday (Sept.16) at 11:00 a.m. at Setzler Field.Â
