NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Newberry College field hockey team looks to continue their hot start to the season Tuesday (Sept. 12) as they host South Atlantic Conference foe in the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College under the lights. The match will start at 7:00 p.m., (EST) at Setzler Field.
 

Scouting the Wolves

• The Wolves enter this week 3-0 (1-0, SAC)  after defeating two NFHCA ranked opponents to start their season, followed by a 2-1 conference victory over the Saints of Limestone University this past Saturday.
• The Wolves attack is currently led by junior forward Tamsin Bangert. Bangert leads the Wolves with six goals on the season, including one of the two in the 2-1 victory over Limestone.
• On the defensive end, the Wolves have had stellar performances by senior forward, Payton Findlay. Findlay has been putting pressure in the front for the Wolves, also coming up with a key defensive save in the Wolves, 4-2 win over Adelphi Friday (Sept. 1)

Scouting the Crusaders

• The Crusaders enter this week's contest 0-3 (0-1, SAC) with recently falling to South Atlantic Conference foe Wingate 4-2 last Friday (Sept. 8) afternoon. 
• The Crusaders have relied on two midfielders of Isabella Grasso, and Lainey Rogers on the offensive end as they scored the two goals in the losing effort against the Bulldogs.

After the Crusaders

This will be one of three home matches this week for the Wolves. They will continue conference play against the Cobras of Coker University, Thursday (Sept. 14) at 6:00 p.m. at Setzler field. After the Cobras, the Wolves will welcome in a non-conference opponent in Slippery Rock University, Saturday (Sept. 16) at Setzler field starting at 11:00 a.m. (EST).
