NEWBERRY – The Newberry College field hockey team will look to keep momentum going as they host Lander this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Setzler Field.
 
The Wolves are coming off a 4-2 win at Coker on Tuesday afternoon concluding a three-game road trip with a 3-0 record.
 
Scouting the Wolves

• The number 10 ranked Wolves come in with a 10-1 overall record and a 7-1 SAC mark. The Wolves rely on their offensive attack, which is led by forwards, Emma Westbrook, Tamsin Bangert and Parker Keeler. Keeler earned national honors last week Wednesday as she was named the NFHCA Offensive player of the week. Westbrook comes into the weekend leading the SAC with 14 goals on the season which is second in the nation. Bangert leads the SAC with nine assists this season. Bangert and Westbrook are both tied for the lead in the SAC with 29 points this season.
• The Defensive side for the Wolves has been led by the center back of Payton Findlay. Findlay has helped limit teams to only 7.8 shots per game. The Wolves are out shooting teams by an average of 17.8-7.8 per game. Freshman Britte Jonker is currently 10-1 on the season.

Scouting the Bearcats.

• The Bearcats will be coming into Setzler field with a 6-2 overall and SAC record. Lander is fresh off a dominating win against Converse on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 6-2. The Offensive attack is led by sophomore midfielder Aniek Vreeken, and freshman forward Philippine Drost. Vreeken has nine points on the season with three goals and three assists. Drost leads the Bearcats in goals with four on the season. Drost also has nine points in the season.

On the defensive end the Bearcats have defending SAC player of the week Isabel Elenga. Elenga has given up a SAC leading .81 goals against average.
