NEWBERRY – The number ten ranked Newberry College field hockey team will finish their three-game road trip Tuesday as they travel to Hartsville, S.C., to take on the Cobras of Coker University.
This will be meeting number two on the season as the Wolves and Cobras met on Thursday, Sept. 14 at Setzler field where the Wolves took an early 3-0 lead and never looked back winning 3-1.
Scouting The Wolves
- The Wolves enter the Tuesday afternoon road trip with a 9-1 record and a 6-1 SAC mark. The Wolves recently defeated the Valkyries of Converse Saturday in Spartanburg 4-0.
- Freshman forward Parker Keeler is currently scored a goal in four straight games. Keeler put two by the goalkeeper in Saturday's 4-0 victory. Sophomore forward Emma Westbrook is leading the Wolves with 12 goals this season. Westbrook scored two in Saturday's win as well. Junior forward Tamsin Bangert has a team best 25 points and seven assists this season. Bangert has scored a point in every match thus far.
- Freshman goalkeeper Britte Jonker will enter Tuesday's match with a 9-1 record. Jonker got her first two shutouts in her career in the past two games.
Scouting the Cobras
- The Cobras will enter Tuesday's match with a 1-6 overall and conference record. They will be playing on a week's rest after losing to Converse 4-3 last Tuesday in Hartsville.
- Senior forward Kaiya Sabur is the leading scorer for the Cobras with eight points this season. Sabur was the goal scorer in the 3-1 loss to the Wolves in Setzler Field last month.
