Wolves Look to Bounce Back with Road Trip to Belmont-Abbey

NEWBERRY – The Newberry field hockey team will be back in action Friday as they will travel to play Belmont Abbey College. The match will be played in Clover, S.C. at Field Day Park at Lake Wylie starting at 2:00 p.m.
 
Scouting the Wolves
  • Newberry enters the Friday conference match with a 12-2 record and a 9-2 SAC mark. The Wolves have three of the top four goal scorers in the SAC in Emma Westbrook, Tamsin Bangert, and Parker Keeler.
  • The Wolves defense is led by senior center back Payton Findlay. Findlay currently holds the school's record in career defensive saves with 14 in her career. Findlay currently has three defensive saves this season.
Scouting the Crusaders
  • The Crusaders enter this Friday's match with a 5-8 record and a 5-6 SAC record. The Crusaders are coming off a 3-2 shootout victory over Converse Tuesday night in Spartanburg.
  • Junior Forward Casey Etter leads the offense for the Crusaders. Etter has 11 points on four goals and three assists. Junior goalkeeper Chloe Parker has 57 saves on the season for the Crusaders.
