NEWBERRY – The Newberry College men's soccer team will look to get back in the win column as they celebrate Senior Night this evening at the Smith Road Complex at 6 p.m. against the Shorter Hawks.
Scouting the Wolves:
• Newberry enters this non-conference matchup with a 2-5-2 record overall, including a 1-4-2 mark in the South Atlantic Conference.
• With his goal against Coker last time out,
Uriel Zarracan brought his season total to four goals to lead the Wolves. Zarracan is tied for the ninth-most goals in the conference.
• The seniors being honored today for the Wolves are:
Jacob Cotton,
Andrew Killian,
Robin Noren,
Daniel Villalobos,
Griggs Vinsant,
Justin Wolfe, Zarracan and
Jose Zuniga.
Scouting the Hawks:
• Shorter is sporting a 1-10 overall record, including seven straight losses.
• The Hawks lost 5-0 in their most recent match last Friday on the road against Lee University (Tenn.).
• Mattia Maiello leads Shorter with five goals on the campaign, which puts him in a tie for the fourth-most in the Gulf South Conference.
