Newberry Gets Set to Battle Queens Under the Lights at Setzler Field

First Home Night Game for Wolves Since 2019

Newberry, S.C. - The Newberry Field Hockey Team tries to snap their three-match losing skid on Wednesday as they face South Atlantic Conference Carolinas foe Queens. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM.
Storylines:
- The Wolves come into this game after a full week off after a 1-0 double overtime loss to Mount Olive last Wednesday.
- Newberry ranks second in the SACC in goals per game with 2.1
- The Scarlet and Gray's attack is headed by Lily Drury, Yasmin De Meyer, and Rachel Crowder who each have three goals.
- Caitlin Wassermann leads the team in assists with three, good for second in the conference and only one behind the conference lead. 
- On defense, the Wolves rank best in the nation in defensive saves with seven.
- Between the posts, Grace Lee ranks second in the conference in save percentage.
- Queens comes into the match coming off a 4-2 loss to the top ranked team in the nation in Shippensburg.
- Gabe Lechner leads the Royals' attack with eight goals and Molly Walter leads the team with four assists. 
- The Royals went 2-0 last year against Newberry, including ending the Wolves' season in the SACC Tournament with a 3-2 win.
- The Wolves won the last matchup at Setzler Field in 2019 by a 3-2 scoreline.
- The 6:30 PM start time is the latest start time for a field hockey match at Setzler Field since they faced Converse on November 7th, 2018 at 7 PM.
- This match is the start of a three-match homestand for Newberry as they will face Converse on Saturday and Belmont Abbey next Tuesday all at Setzler Field.
