Newberry Looks to Avenge Last Second Loss to Crusaders Earlier This Season

Newberry, S.C. - After back to back thrilling wins in the first two games of this three-match homestand, the Newberry Field Hockey Team looks to close out a perfect 3-0 homestand on Tuesday night as they face Belmont Abbey at 6:30 PM.

Storylines:

This is the second and final regular season meeting between the two teams with the Crusaders taking the first meeting on September 18th with a goal with less than a minute left
On Wednesday, Lily Drury scored the game-winning goal midway through the fourth quarter to give the Scarlet and Gray the 3-2 win over Queens.
On Sunday, it was Millie Gallagher's turn for the heroics as she scored a goal with four minutes left in the first overtime to win the game 1-0 over Converse.
Drury's assist on Gallagher's goal on Sunday brought her into a tie with Yasmin De Meyer for the team lead in points with 10.
After a 14 save performance on Saturday, Grace Lee now leads the conference in saves with 59 and is tied for second in least goals allowed.
Belmont Abbey is coming off of a 3-2 loss to Limestone last Friday which completed a season sweep for the Saints
Gianna Conti, who scored the game-winner in Belmont Abbey's win over Newberry, is tied for the conference lead in goals and is second in the conference in points.
After this match, the Wolves head on the road for four straight games as they face Coker, Converse, and Queens for the second and final time before facing Limestone for the first time this season
Newberry will conclude the regular season with two straight home games against Mount Olive and Limestone on October 27th and 30th.
