Wolves fall to Bears on the road

HICKORY, N.C.- The Newberry men's soccer team fell to Lenoir-Rhyne by a final score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Lenoir-Rhyne came out of the gates flying, leaving the Wolves without an answer. Diego Delgado was able to find the back of the net within the first six minutes of the game. The Bears maintained an offensive approach throughout the game and found the goal three more times.

Newberry out shot the Bears 14 to six, but only had four shots make it on frame. The Wolves fought to create chances, linking well in the midfield, but failed to piece it together in the final third.
Sophomore forward Troy Paul created several opportunities for himself landing two of his four shots on goal but keeper Alexander Langer denied his attempts.

Senior Midfielder Vojin Manojlovic took a rip from outside the box in the 60th minute that rattled the crossbar, furthering the fact that things were not going the way the Wolves wanted. Manojlovic took three more shots during the game, bringing much needed energy when he stepped onto the pitch.

Head Coach Bryce Cooper and the Wolves look to regroup and focus on their next contest against Coker University on October 16th.

The Conference matchup will take place in Hartsville, S.C. at 4:30 pm.
