CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The Bloomsburg Huskies (2-0) defeated Newberry (1-1) on Sunday morning during a nonconference neutral site game, played on Queens University's Field.
Bloomsburg was aggressive from the start with their first goal coming in the first couple of minutes of the game. This goal set the tone as they went up 3-0 at the half. The Huskies outlasted the Wolves with a final score of 7-0.
Newberry struggled to find someone in premium scoring position throughout the entire game, but ended with two penalty corners. Both corners were set up by Dominique Milian in an attempt to score late in the second period but fell short of scoring. Newberry goalkeeper Dakota Elzy had nine saves.
Newberry is set to face Eastern College Athletic Conference opponent Mercy College Monday, Sept. 4 at home on Setzler Field.
