Box Score Newberry – Wolves field hockey team loses big to Limestone by a score of 6-1
Newberry (1-4 overall, 0-2 ECAC) falls to Limestone (4-1 overall, 2-1 ECAC) in an ECAC battle. Limestone, ranked 6th in the nation, scored the early goal 34 seconds into game. Newberry didn’t let them have the lead for long as they scored a goal four minutes later. Caitlyn Warren scored her fourth foal of the year for the Wolves.
After the Wolves tied the game, the Saints went on a roll and the Wolves defense could not stop them. The Saints scored five unanswered goals, three goals in each half. The Saints had goals from Stembeni Zhanda, Brittany Carney, Jill Funkhouser, Anna Walmsley and Kate Norman.
The Wolves as a team had eight shots, six of them on goal while getting eight corners. Dakota Elzy played 50 minutes giving up five goals and six saves. Allison Davis played 20 minutes giving up one goal and having six saves.
The Wolves will head to Shirley, N.Y. to take on Dowling at 4 P.M.
