Box Score NEWBERRY – Newberry College (3-12, 0-6 ECAC) lose to Bellarmine University (9-6, 2-4 ECAC) by a score of 5-1 at Newberry College Saturday morning.
The Wolves scored their lone goal at the 36:52 minute mark as they were already down 2-0 at the end of the first half. The Knights scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes, one from Hannah Doll and the other from Schneidtmiller. Newberry’s goals came off a miss clear opportunity for the Knights when senior Kaycie Andrew snagged her second goal of the year. It was senior day for the field hockey team and Andrew was the only senior and scored the only goal for the Wolves.
The Knights would get three more goals in the second half from Schneidtmiller, Kelsey O’Bryan and Lillie Nitzken. Bellarmine took 22 shots, 14 on goal while adding 15 penalty corners. Sarah Nicolas notched her fourth win of the year with only goal against and no saves. Alexandra Moro came in to play in the second half.
Allison Davis started in net for the Wolves but only played the first half giving up two goals and making four saves. Dakota Elzy came in and played the second half giving up three goals and making five saves. The Wolves took four shots, one on goal and notched seven penalty corners. Courtlyn Warren and Kaycie Andrew each took two shots on the day.
