LOUISVILLE, KY – Newberry College (2-8, 0-3 ECAC) falls to Ballarmine (7-3, 1-2 ECAC) by a score of 1-0 with a lonely goal in the second half by Lillie Nitzken.

The first half was led by Ballarmine as they took 12 shots and had five penalty corners. Wolves’ goal keeper Dakota Elzy notched 10 saves in the half as the Wolves did not get a shot off in the first 35 minutes.

The Wolves would get their first shot off at the 39:07 minute mark when Hannah Collins took a shot from about 15 feet away but Sara Nicolas was there to make the save. Bellarmine had six shots and six penalty corners.  Their fourth shot of the second half found the back of the bet coming off Lillie Nitzken stick for her second goal of the year.

The Wolves would start to put pressure on at the 52:03 minute mark when Courtlyn Warren took a shot that went wide. The Wolves kept up the pressure as they took 12 shots in the half. Five of the shots were saved by Sara Nicolas. The Wolves also added nine penalty corners in the second half.

As a team, the Wolves took 12 shots, six of them on goal. Goal keeper Dakota Elzy tallied 13 saves while facing 14 shots on goal.

The Wolves will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday Oct, 11 as they travel to Centre for a 1 P.M. start time.
