Box Score ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Newberry Wolves had one of their best defensive halves of the season in the second half at Lindenwood on Friday afternoon, but lost 6-1 to the host Lions.
Newberry allowed just two goals in the second half and an improved offensive effort in the second period as well. Lindenwood led 4-0 at halftime and scored twice quickly in the second half, but the Wolves buckled down and did not allow a goal in the final 33 minutes of play.
Morgan Downey (Millersville, Md.) made 16 saves in the game and Newberry's goal came from Courtlyn Warren (Richmond, Va.) in the 41st minute. Neither team managed a goal from there despite four more Newberry attempts on goal.
Newberry falls to 0-11 with the loss and next travels to nationally-ranked Limestone next Wednesday.
