Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Newberry Wolves field hockey team faced a tough test in the second game of a weekend swing to the Northeast, as the No. 2 Millersville Marauders earned a 9-0 shutout Sunday afternoon.
Newberry is now 0-8 on the year. The Wolves' next match comes on Sunday, October 20, at the USA Field Hockey National Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. - once again facing Millersville (10-1).
The Wolves managed some good offensive chances in the second half with nine shots, but none found the back of the net. Caitlyn Warren (Richmond, Va.) had four shots on goal, Courtlyn Warren (Richmond, Va.) had two shots on goal and Carly Lutz (Eldersburg, Md.) and Kaitlyn Willard (Stevensville, Md.) each had one shot on goal.
Goalkeeper Morgan Downey (Millersville, Md.) made 12 saves as the Marauders had their largest offensive surge in the first half, unleashing 26 shots.
