Wolves fall 1-0 despite three key saves from Cox

SALISBURY, N.C. - After an unscheduled week away from competition, the Newberry women's soccer team fell 1-0 on the road at Catawba.

Despite being outshot by the home side, Newberry (4-3-1, 1-1 SAC) saw a scoring chance turned away first, when sophomore Brayden Miller saw her scoring chance turned away in the 28th minute by Catawba goalkeeper Angelica Pawlowski.

Miller's first half shot was the only shot placed on frame by the Wolves in the opening half. Newberry was outshot in the first half by Catawba (4-4, 1-2 SAC) 4-1.

The second half proved a success for the Lady Indians, as Taylor Arrowood scored the lone goal of the afternoon in the 80th minute.

Catawba outshot Newberry 12-4 on the match, while Newberry's sophomore keeper Morgan Cox (Perth, Western Australia, Australia) recorded three saves on the afternoon.

The Wolves next play on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. when Newberry travels to Wingate for a conference meeting with the Bulldogs.
