Tusculum (9-1-2, 4-0-1 SAC) controlled the early part of the match forcing Newberry (4-5-2, 1-3-1 SAC) keeper Darley (Wolcott, Conn.) to record her first of two first half saves in the third minute.
In the 25th Darley was unable to stop a high shot from Jana Linke as the Pioneers opened the afternoon's scoring.

The opening of the second half saw the Pioneers record four corner kicks and two shots on goal, before in the 56th minute Brodie gathered a pass from junior Lauren Singleton (Charleston, S.C.) and dribbled down the center of the field and placed a shot on just inside the goal post to even the score at 1-1.
Tusculum continued its attack on goal, forcing Darley to make three saves after Brodie's strike.
