Box Score NEWBERRY - On senior day the Newberry women's soccer team played its fifth double overtime match of the season and recorded a 0-0 draw for the third time in 2012.
The Wolves (7-7-4, 2-4-3 SAC) controlled the possession for much of the match, earning five corner kicks on the afternoon. Lincoln Memorial (7-6-2, 3-4-2 SAC) outshot the Wolves 16-5 on the afternoon, but only placed four on frame.
In goal Newberry sophomore Morgan Cox (Perth, Western Australia, Australia) turned away four shots, while sophomore Brayden Miller (Lyman, S.C.) led the Wolves with three shots in the match.
Prior to kickoff the Wolves saw five seniors honored by teammates, coaches and fans for their contribution to the Newberry soccer program. Newberry's senior class was comprised of: Theresa Berman (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), Amber Chase (Aiken, S.C.), Tiffany Kinner (North Myrtle Beach, S.C.), Katie Sas (Columbia, S.C.) and Cassie Smith (Spartanburg, S.C.). All five are scheduled to graduate at the end of the spring semester.
Newberry will next play in the 2012 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament with the first round seeing the Wolves travel to Wingate for a showdown with the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
