GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Newberry women's soccer team dropped its first conference match of the 2011 season in a 3-0 loss at Tusculum Saturday afternoon.

Tramicka James netted the first goal of the match in the 19th minute, and would add two more goals on her own in the 25th minute and 57th minute. James' hat trick gives the Pioneers (6-3-0, 2-0-0 South Atlantic Conference) leading scorer nine goals on the season.

Newberry (6-3-0, 3-1 SAC) goalkeeper Emily Rhoades (Buckley, Wash.) made five saves in the match. Newberry was outshot 12-8 and junior Amber Chase (Aiken, S.C.) finished the match with the Wolves only shot on goal.

Newberry returns to the pitch on Wednesday evening as it travels to Wingate for a 7 p.m. conference match.
