JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - Newberry College kept the game close for 80 minutes, but fell to the Carson-Newman Eagles, 4-0, in men's soccer action in the regular season finale for both teams.

Carson-Newman (14-0-2, 5-0-1 SAC) clinched its fourth consecutive South Atlantic Conference regular season championship with the win.

Newberry falls to 8-8-0, 3-3-0 SAC, but clinches its first ever home South Atlantic Conference tournament match with their fourth place finish in the conference.

Dario Carrasco scored all four goals for the Eagles, including three in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Debola Ogunseye (Lagos, Nigeria) led the Indians with two shots on goal, while William Koch (Greenville, S.C.) had one.

Will Dieterich (Tampa, Fla.) went the distance in goal for Newberry, stopping six shots. Tyler Baldock made three saves for Carson-Newman.

C-N outshot the Indians 21-10, and 10-3 in shots on goal.

Newberry's first round matchup for the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference will be announced Sunday.
