Shawn Liesch (Kissimmee, FL) scored the game winner at the 65:49 mark by putting a header in the net off a rebound.  Troy Pinckney (Mt. Pleasant, SC) added an insurance goal in the 90th minute off another rebound.

Newberry used two goalkeepers in the match.  Tim Seibert (Harrisburg, NC) started the match but had to leave after 30 minutes of play due to an injury.  He made two saves before he was relieved by Bryan Linn (Safety Harbor, FL).  Linn played well for the Indians making five saves and maintaining the shutout.

Matt Nocks (Greenville, SC) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lions making seven saves.  Newberry out shot Mars Hill 18-to-12 in the contest but the shots on goal margin was much closer with Newberry holding a 9-to-7 advantage.
