CLINTON, SC - Presbyterian College claimed all three doubles matches en route to an 9-0 victory over Newberry College in South Atlantic Conference action on Callaway Courts Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Hose improve to 10-3 overall, 2-0 in the SAC on the season while the Lady Indians fall to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in the league.
PC claimed all three double matches as sophomore Catherine Bankhead (Amarillo, TX) and senior Taylor Lynch (Myrtle Beach, SC) defeated Newberry's freshmen duo of Lauren Hartley (Beamsville, Ontario) and Isabel Kreidler (Tuebingen, Germany) 8-5 at #1 doubles and sophomore Lauren Brown (Gaffney, SC) and freshman Kari Fuller (Suwanee, GA) defeated freshmen Chanelle Clare (Nassau, Bahamas) and Bethany Poppe (Milwaukee, WI) 8-3. PC's sophomore Lisa Moyer (Florence, SC) and freshman Kathryn Kleckley (Lexington, SC) finished the doubles sweep with a 8-0 victory over junior Kim Drieling (Aurora, CO) and sophomore Jessica Lipsi (Columbia, SC).
In singles, PC's senior Elise Netzler (Rock Hill, SC) defeated Clare 6-2, 6-4 at the #3 flight while freshman Brittany Lanford (Florence, SC) defeated Dreiling 6-0, 6-0 at the #6 flight. Senior Amanda Floyd (Athens, TN) completed the Blue Hose sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Lipsi at #5 singles.
The Blue Hose return to action on Friday, March 25 at 10:00 am when they host the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne College. The Lady Indians return to action on Thursday, March 24 at 2:00 pm when they host Lenoir-Rhyne College.
