Women's tennis falls, 8-1, to Augusta State

NEWBERRY, S.C. - Augusta State University came to town for a pair of matches originally scheduled for Wednesday and remained unbeaten by virtue of two 8-1 scores over Newberry College.

On the women's side, freshman Chanelle Clare (Nassau, Bahamas) won at #3 singles and was nearly joined in victory by Lauren Hartley (Beamsville, Ontario) who pushed ASU's Sara Jegat to the limit in the third set of #1 singles.

For the men, Toby Rawlings (Bristol, England) and Oliver Elston (Katy, Texas) claimed Newberry's only point at #3 doubles.
