LAKELAND, Fla. - The Newberry Wolves dropped four strokes from their first round score, but still sit in eighth place after the second round of the NCAA Division II South Regional tournament at the Lone Palm Golf Club on Monday.
Newberry shot a 316 in Monday's second round and now have a two-day subtotal of 636 entering Tuesday's final round of competition. Lynn leads the competition with a 603.
Sophomore Korey Coleman (Stanford, Ky.) shot Newberry's low round of the day making a remarkable improvement from her first round, shooting a 5-over par 77 Monday.
Eline Askeland (Oslo, Norway) is now Newberry's overall leader at 157, tying for 28th in the individual competition. She dropped a stroke from her first round score, shooting a 6-over par 78 Monday.
Lisa Brandl (Nuremberg, Germany) is tied for 35th at 161, while Barbara Castro (Coruna, Spain) and Julia Daneshfar (Trophy Club, Texas) are tied for 39th, each shooting 163 through two days.
The Wolves complete the tournament Tuesday in groups with Florida Tech and West Florida starting at 8:20 a.m.
