Parrish named ITA Scholar-Athlete

SKILLMAN, N.J. - Newberry College two-sport student-athlete Samantha Parrish (Angola, Ind.) has been named a Scholar-Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association today.

To qualify for the ITA Scholar-Athlete award, a student-athlete must be a varsity letter-winner and have a 3.5 or above grade point average.

Parrish, who stepped up to join the tennis team during the spring season, carries a 3.9545 grade point average while majoring in English. Also an all-conference volleyball player, Parrish won one singles match and three doubles matches in her first season on the tennis squad.
