Lady Indians break into Top 10 in ITA Southeast Region

No. 9 Newberry in regional Top 10 for first time since joining NCAA

SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Newberry College women's tennis program is ranked No. 9 in the Southeast Region in the latest poll released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, college officials announced Friday.

Newberry is in the midst of the best season in program history, as the Lady Indians are 8-6 overall, with an outstanding 5-1 mark in the South Atlantic Conference. The Top 10 ranking is the program's first in the Southeast Region.

Newberry is one of three SAC teams in the Top 10 in the region, with Presbyterian at No. 7 and Mars Hill at No. 10. The Lady Indians defeated Mars Hill, 6-3, on Friday.
