Lady Indians record second straight sweep with 9-0 win over Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. - The Newberry College women's tennis team earned its second consecutive sweep in non-conference action on Friday, March 23, with a 9-0 win over Brevard College.

The win gives Newberry a 4-5 overall record.

The No. 1 doubles duo of Autise Mortimer (Nassau, Bahamas) and Lauren Hartley (Beamsville, Ontario, Canada) recorded their fourth straight win in that spot, defeating Kimberley Dixon and Kayley Duval, 8-0.

Bethany Poppe (Califton, N.J.) also won her fourth conescutive singles victory, 6-1, 6-2, over Slagle in No. 6 singles.

The Lady Indians return to conference action on Wednesday as they host Wingate University for a 3 p.m. start.
